The instructor will give you some basic information about Bonsai showing you some small works, so-called “Mini-bonsai” which is now very popular here among young people. The Mini-bonsai is a setout of a green of approximately 15cm implanted in a pot of approximately 10 cm in diameter. Attendants will also learn how to prune or how to water the bonsai.
In the latter half, the instructor will show you a miniascape (Hakoniwa) of a Japanese rock garden (Kare-sansui). The miniascape is one of the Japanese original culture, which was very popular from Edo through Meiji Era.
The instructor, Ms. Megumi Oshima, owns a Mini-bonsai shop in Kichijoji.
